    Full-Time, Reporting to Founding Chairwoman

    PATI is seeking a visionary and experienced Deputy Director to lead programming, operations, and partnerships in Jodhpur. The role involves strategic oversight of year-round exhibitions, residencies, festivals, and community engagement, ensuring excellence across all public-facing initiatives. You’ll manage a multidisciplinary team, develop key partnerships, support fundraising, and shape communications strategy, all while working closely with the Founding Chairwoman to bring PATI’s mission to life.

    Ideal candidates will bring 8–10 years of leadership experience in the arts or cultural sector, with proven skills in team management, stakeholder engagement, and programme delivery.

    Detailed Responsibilities 

    1. Programme Leadership and Development

    • Support the Founding Chairwoman in conceptualisation, planning, and delivery of all exhibitions, public programmes, workshops, artist residencies, and events at the PATI Learning and Research Centre in Jodhpur.

    • Work closely with the PATI’s curatorial team to ensure the programmes are innovative, experimental, and responsive to both local and global conversations in the arts.

    • Manage programmes related to professional development opportunities, community engagement, workshops and other events in line with PATI’s organisational vision, mission and aims.

    • Ensure that all programmes serve diverse audiences and reflect PATI’s commitment to inclusivity, access, and excellence.

    2. Communication and Public Engagement

    • Oversee the creation and dissemination of all exhibition texts, event descriptions, public talks, and presentations, ensuring that all content is composed in language that is clear, engaging, and accessible to diverse audiences.

    • Ensure PATI’s programming and curatorial voice is consistently and effectively communicated across all platforms and to all stakeholders, including artists, partners, funders, and the general public.

    3. Programme Quality and Standards

    • Implement comprehensive quality control measures across all PATI programmes to ensure that each event, residency, festival, and exhibition upholds the organisation’s highest artistic, curatorial, and operational standards.

    • Monitor implementation closely to maintain consistency in audience experience, accessibility, and impact.

    4. Operational Planning and Execution

    • Develop comprehensive operational plans and timelines for all major initiatives.

    • Oversee and coordinate internal resources to ensure the successful and timely delivery of all programme components.

    • Anticipate and address operational challenges proactively, ensuring solutions are creative, effective, and aligned with PATI’s goals.

    5. Evaluation

    • In collaboration with the Exhibitions & Programmes Manager, Assistant Curators, and the Operations and Finance Coordinator, develop structured evaluation frameworks for all programming activity.

    • Facilitate open forums, stakeholder feedback sessions, and community consultations to inform programme design and continuous improvement.

    • Ensure that thorough, data-driven evaluation reports are produced for internal learning, board reporting, and funder communication.

    6. Team Leadership 

    • Manage, mentor, and provide strategic leadership to the programme, curatorial, operations, and communications teams.

    • Conduct regular staff performance reviews, and support professional development across departments.

    • Foster an organisational culture that prioritises collaboration, inclusion, and accountability

    • Serve as a key point of contact between the wider team and senior leadership, ensuring alignment across functions.

    7. Fundraising, Grant Management and Donor Engagement

    • Research and identify prospective donors, trusts, foundations, and partners whose ethos aligns with PATI’s mission.

    • Support in preparing compelling funding proposals and pitches.

    • Collaborate with the Operations and Finance Coordinator to ensure all internal processes for grants are compliant and timely reporting is submitted.

    • Liaise with the Marketing Team to ensure that funders are appropriately credited and acknowledged across all platforms and communications.

    8. Marketing, Branding, and Digital Strategy

    • Lead the Marketing and Social Media Team to ensure timely, accurate, and compelling content aligned with PATI’s programming and branding strategy.

    • Ensure consistent application of PATI’s brand identity across all platforms, campaigns, and public communications.

    • Review monthly engagement analytics and reports, using insights to adapt and grow PATI’s digital audience and deepen public engagement.

    • Report directly to the Founding Chairwoman on communications performance and strategic outcomes.

    9. Strategic Partnerships and VIP Relations

    • Build and manage strategic brand and institutional partnerships that support PATI’s mission and programming.

    • Cultivate long-term relationships with cultural organisations, patrons, and institutional allies across India and internationally.

    • Oversee the management of PATI’s VIP and relationship databases in coordination with the Marketing Team, ensuring up-to-date and effective communications with all key stakeholders.

    • Lead on the planning and delivery of VIP events in consultation with the Founding Chairwoman, ensuring seamless guest experiences and strengthening stakeholder relationships through meaningful engagement.

    Essential Qualifications & Experience

    • 8–10 years of leadership experience in arts management, cultural programming, or a related field.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

    • Strong track record in fundraising, partnership development, and donor stewardship.

    • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for cultural initiatives.

    About the Role

    The Public Arts Trust of India (PATI) seeks a motivated and experienced Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to build brand visibility, develop new audiences, and lead the design and delivery of strategic marketing campaigns. Based in Jodhpur, this is a hands-on role suited for a proactive communicator with a track record of managing multi-platform marketing and audience engagement efforts, and someone excited by the challenge of growing an emerging cultural institution’s footprint across India and beyond.

    You will work closely with the Director and curatorial teams to communicate the impact of PATI’s work through compelling storytelling, dynamic digital strategies, and community-driven campaigns—both online and on the ground. You’ll also contribute to the promotion of our major events, Jaipur Art Week and Jodhpur Arts Week, and support the organisation’s wider outreach and marketing goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the content calendar and ensure regular, high-quality posting across PATI’s social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, and others as applicable)

    • Produce and schedule content in alignment with the content calendar

    • Track analytics and insights across all platforms, providing monthly reports to the Leadership Team and using the data to refine PATI’s digital strategy

    • Design and disseminate regular Mailchimp newsletters, writing content that reflects PATI’s voice and values, while managing and segmenting PATI’s mailing list to target communications effectively across audience demographics

    • Plan and execute communications around public programmes, including pre-buzz events, real-time event coverage, and post-event coverage

    • Develop digital and on-ground marketing campaigns, and execute each campaign to expand awareness and engagement

    • Identify and implement creative strategies to grow PATI’s audience, both digitally and through on-ground engagements

    • Maintain and expand PATI’s contact databases (press, patrons, artists, stakeholders) and lead audience development initiatives by managing two distinct engagement tracks: VIP and Public

    • Manage and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for PATI’s social media and marketing platforms, and support the development of new metrics and reporting tools to enhance data collection and programme engagement

    What We’re Looking For

    • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design, or related fields

    • 1–3 years of relevant experience in marketing, social media, or event communications (internships or freelance work included)

    • Familiarity with campaign planning, digital strategy, and paid promotions

    • Working knowledge of tools such as Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, and SurveyMonkey

    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt across projects and platforms

    • Interest in arts, culture, and community-building

    • Strong storytelling skills, excellent writing ability, and a keen visual sensibility; basic design and video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) are a plus but not essential

    The Public Arts Trust of India (PATI) invites applications from photographers and videographers based in Jodhpur to support the visual documentation of our exhibitions, artist residencies, craft collaborations, public programs, and institutional activities.

    We are looking for visual storytellers who can bring sensitivity, precision, and a strong narrative eye to documenting contemporary art practices in public and cultural spaces.     Role Overview

    This is a research-led, programme-facing role at the centre of Jodhpur Arts Week’s knowledge and archival infrastructure.

    The Researcher will lead original investigations into Jodhpur’s artistic, craft, and architectural practices while building a digital archive that makes this knowledge globally accessible. The role bridges field research, archival practice, and editorial development, contributing directly to research publications, programme documentation, and the intellectual identity of Jodhpur Arts Week.

    Key Working Relationships

    The Researcher will report to the Director & Founding Chairwoman and collaborate closely with:

    • Creative Arts Education Coordinator — documentation and archival development of education sessions and publications.

    • Curators and programme teams — ensuring research and archival material informs the curatorial direction and programming of Arts Week.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Research into Jodhpur Arts, Craft & Architectural Practices

    • Conduct sustained field research with craftspeople, architects, urban historians, and contemporary practitioners across Jodhpur and the Marwar region.

    • Document endangered craft traditions such as bandhani, blue pottery, leheriya, stone carving, lacquerwork, and textile weaving through interviews, oral histories, and visual documentation.

    • Investigate Jodhpur’s architectural heritage—from Mehrangarh-era construction to vernacular haveli typologies and contemporary adaptations.

    • Map relationships between craft practices, built environments, and community identity across the walled city and surrounding settlements.

    • Contribute to national and international academic conversations on Rajasthani cultural heritage and craft studies.

    • Identify research gaps and propose annual research priorities aligned with the programme calendar.

    2. Digital Archive Development & Global Access

    • Lead the creation and stewardship of the Jodhpur Arts Week Digital Archive — a publicly accessible repository for research outputs, photographs, audio-visual documentation, oral histories, and programme records.

    • Develop metadata and taxonomy frameworks suited to South Asian craft and architectural heritage while aligning with international archival standards (Dublin Core, IIIF, etc.).

    • Ensure global accessibility through multilingual navigation (minimum English and Hindi) and mobile-responsive design.

    • Manage digitisation of analogue materials held by craftspeople, families, and partner institutions with ethical consent protocols.

    • Build relationships with international archival partners including museums, universities, and cultural foundations.

    • Produce public-facing outputs from archive materials such as articles, image essays, and digital exhibitions.

    3. Creative Arts Education Programme — Archiving & Publication

    • Document sessions of the Creative Arts Education Programme, including workshop activities, participant responses, and facilitator reflections.

    • Develop a structured archive of session materials including transcripts, images, and recorded content.

    • Work with the Director and editors to develop a publication based on this archive.

    • Commission or produce essays, interviews, and contextual material exploring art education, craft pedagogy, and heritage transmission.

    4. Evaluation — Jodhpur Arts Week

    • Contribute research insights and qualitative documentation to the annual evaluation of Jodhpur Arts Week programmes.

    • Assist in developing survey tools and interview frameworks where research intersects with evaluation processes.

    • Review draft evaluation reports and contribute expertise on heritage research and archival outputs.

    Person Specification

    Essential

    • Postgraduate degree (MA, MPhil, or PhD) in Art History, South Asian Studies, Heritage Studies, Architecture, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, or related disciplines.

    • Demonstrable research experience in arts, craft, or architectural heritage (preferably in South Asia).

    • Experience developing or managing digital archives or digital humanities projects.
